Karuna ("compassion"): universal sympathy. In Buddhist yoga the complement of wisdom (prajna). In Buddhist literature it is stated that Karuna must be accompanied by prajna or wisdom in order to have the right effect.
Karuna Reiki is an outgrowth of Usui/Tibetan Reiki which has been developed by William Lee Rand - Reiki Master. It is taught to those at the Reiki Master level in two levels. It is considered to be a higher level of energy than Traditional Usui Reiki. William Rand, as well as many other Reiki Masters who took the Karuna Training are saying that it strengthens their healing energy, allowing it to work more deeply and produce beneficial results much more quickly.
There are many additional symbols and procedures which are used in this system. There are eight healing symbols and four master symbols. Each of them has it's own purpose and vibration. The symbols were channeled by several other Reiki masters, but William Rand used them and found them to have a great value. |
It is said that he meditated on them and was guided to develop the attunement process and to call the new system Karuna Reiki*. Some of the symbols which are used in Karuna Reiki* are used in other systems. However, they don't have the same healing energy tapped/connected to them as in Karuna system.
The symbols are used just like symbols in Traditional Usui Reiki system when giving Reiki treatments. The whole method can be taught in a 3 day weekend for Reiki Masters or it can be divided into four levels; two for practitioner levels and two for Master levels. A requirement for taking any of the Karuna level is ART or what is also called Reiki 3A. A student need to be familiar with the Usui Master symbol as that will allow him/her to hold more healing energy and have greater benefit from the Karuna Training.
Most students find that Karuna Reiki* is different and more powerful than Usui Reiki.
I found that when I use Karuna together with Usui Reiki it makes the session an deeper experience for both - a client and myself. The client often times feel the different energy as well - no better or worse, just different. Clients who are more body/self-aware experience deeper relaxation and healing.
Some clients report a feeling of being surrounded by the energy, not knowing where the healer is at all and letting themselves fully benefit from the healing.
Those who receive the attunements often report experiences with their guides, angels, and higher self as well as feel the haling presence of other beings. I found that true also with Traditional Usui Reiki attunements.
Working with Karuna Reiki* energy strengthens our awareness and connection to the purest spiritual helpers such as:
· Jesus - who is a wonderful guide during any healing session and as I found in working with him, who can introduce different healing energies to you. Open yourself for his guidance as he is always happy to help,
· Mother Mary - Mother of Jesus, or Kuan -Yin - Chinese Goddess of Compassion and Mercy offer their beautiful, gentle guidance to everyone working on relationships, with children or mothers. Very sweet and protective energy. Ask for their help and even though you might not have a sense of its presence, your client might actually see that healing being who will make her/him feel wonderful during/after the session,
· Angeles and Archangels such as Archangel Michael, Archangel Gabriel who will help to open even wider the client's path and they will help with more light and clarity as well as their guidance during the healing, ….To name only few…
Those beautiful beings are being experienced during Karuna attunements and session.
However, if you constantly work on strengthening your connection with spiritual guides then what you need is just open heart and mind. The more you trust yourself and the spiritual energy/guidance, the more clearly and powerful those beautiful energies can communicate with you.
