MEDITATION FOR THE WORK WE WERE BORN TO DO

by Nick Williams

Today I don't just pray for a brilliant career, but ask to find the brilliance within my own soul.
Give me the courage to bring forth my love and shine in a world that values fear and hiding.
Today I am willing to accept the truth about myself, however wonderful that may be!
Lead me to finding the purpose and passion in my soul.
Lead me to finding the gifts that are in my heart.
Help me find what makes my heart sing and my joy flow.
Help me discover the true purpose for which I am here.
Give me the strength to melt the blocks that I have created against my own power and beauty.
Help me know the fullness I already am.

''Any work that doesn't bring us alive, and that our heart isn't in,
is too small for us''.

'All religions are connected to the same ultimate Reality and lead people towards a common goal. This is true even though the various religions make exclusive claims about themselves, sometimes asserting the uniqueness and imcomparability of their God or ulitimate principle.

Nevertheless, in affirming the existance of Ultimate Reality or an Ultimate principle, we assume that it can be only one, regardless of the various beliefs which people hold about it - be it described as one or many, impersonal or personal, absolute emptiness or absolute Being, and regardless of the name by which is called'

"Come to the edge."
"We can't. We're afraid."
"Come to the edge."
"We can't. We will fall!"
"Come to the edge."
And they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew.

"You tell me to stand still, but I am not walking," he shouted, "whereas you who are walking say you are still. How is it that you are standing still but I am not?"

The Buddha turned round. "My legs move but my mind is still," he said. "Your legs are still but your mind moves all the time in a fire of anger, hatred, and feverish desire. Therefore, I am still but you are not."

"'Happiness is not the absence of problems
but the absolute confidence that any problem can be overcome".

The fool practices concentration
And control of the mind.

But the master is like a man asleep.

He rests in himself
And finds nothing more to do.
